At HGS Cape Town, supporting the US based client, the Inbound Sales Agent role focuses on helping customers who are actively looking to set up or switch essential home services such as internet, TV, phone, and energy. This is an on-site role based in Woodstock, Cape Town, within a fast-paced contact centre environment. Customers contacting us have already expressed intent to purchase. Your role is to understand their needs, clearly explain available options, and guide them towards the most suitable solution. The objective is to complete the sale efficiently and accurately within a single interaction wherever possible. You will manage a high volume of inbound sales calls each day, balancing customer experience with commercial outcomes. Comprehensive training is provided to ensure you are confident in the products, systems, and processes required to succeed.

What are we looking for:

 

  • Handle inbound sales calls and establish rapport quickly 
  • Identify customer needs through effective questioning and active listening 
  • Deliver a consultative sales approach with tailored recommendations 
  • Clearly communicate product features, pricing, and service benefits 
  • Confidently address objections and guide customers towards a decision 
  • Achieve and exceed individual sales and conversion targets 
  • Close sales on first contact wherever possible 
  • Accurately capture customer information and complete transactions in CRM systems 
  • Adhere to quality, compliance, and ethical sales standards 
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of products, promotions, and availability 
  • Contribute positively to a high performing sales team environment 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Matric qualification or relevant experience within a contact centre or sales environment 
  • Proven ability to perform in a target driven, fast paced environment 
  • Strong verbal communication skills with confidence in influencing customer decisions 
  • Customer focused mindset with strong commercial awareness 
  • Resilience and adaptability when working under pressure 
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts in line with operational requirements 
  • Confident use of CRM systems and sales tools 
  • Ability to capture and process customer information accurately in real time 
  • Understanding of upselling and cross selling techniques 
  • Familiarity with contact centre operations and compliance standards 
  • Strong keyboard skills and system navigation ability 
  • Drug screening required to ensure site and employee safety
