Job Description: 

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations (BOD/EOD Activities)

  • Manage and monitor Begin of Day (BOD) and End of Day (EOD) database jobs
  • Ensure successful execution of scheduled jobs, batch processes, and data pipelines
  • Handle daily health checks and system availability monitoring

Backup & Recovery Management

  • Implement and manage database backup and restore strategies
  • Ensure regular full, differential, and transaction log backups
  • Validate backup integrity and perform recovery drills

Security & Access Management

  • Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and audit requirements
  • Implement and manage Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and data-at-rest security

Database Administration (MS SQL & MySQL)

  • Manage MS SQL Server and MySQL databases
  • Handle database creation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Perform linked server creation and cross-platform data access
  • Support cross-technology database integration and queries

Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize database performance (query tuning, indexing, execution plans)
  • Perform database shrink, cleanup, and space optimization activities
  • Proactively manage storage growth and capacity planning

Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Identify and resolve database performance issues and failures
  • Ensure high availability and minimal downtime
  • Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams for issue resolution

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration
  • Working knowledge of MySQL (Oracle MySQL) administration
  • Expertise in backup/recovery, performance tuning, indexing, and security
  • Hands-on experience with TDE encryption and data security practices
  • Experience with linked servers and cross-database querying
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple environments independently

  • Experience in financial or regulated industry preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience 4-5 years
  • Candidate would work out of the Client’s office in Goregaon
