Server Administrator
server administrator will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and security of both physical and virtual servers. Important responsibilities include the execution of backups, patch administration, and system monitoring.
Upkeep and Maintenance
• OS Updates: The installation of software upgrades, firmware updates, and operating system patches.
• Health Checks: The monitoring of server performance, memory utilization, and CPU burden.
• Hardware Maintenance: The replacement of malfunctioning hard drives, the addition of memory, and the supervision of physical racks or cloud nodes.
Access and Security
• User Accounts: Enforcing access rules, resetting passwords, and creating permissions.
• Firewalls & Defense: Establishing network defense rules, antivirus programs, and security tools.
• Log Audits: The process of examining system logs to identify any unusual behavior or unauthorized entry attempts.
Disaster Recovery and Backup
• Data Backups: Monitoring completion reports and conducting scheduled data backups.
• Disaster Recovery: Testing restore processes to guarantee that data can be safely restored in the event of a system collapse.
