Position Overview
The Junior Product Design Engineer supports the development of new prototypes and products, as well as enhancements to existing products, alongside the Product Development Team. The role focuses on CAD design of systems and components, bringing concepts to prototype, testing, and ultimately production. Working closely with the Product Development Engineer and other stakeholders, the Junior Product Design Engineer interprets customer needs, develops innovative solutions, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and review technical drawings using 3D CAD software.
- Ensure designs meet required standards (IP rating, EMC/EMI, environmental, and road safety regulations).
- Assist in developing testing processes and perform validation of new designs.
- Generate manufacturing drawings and support production transition.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Document and track project development and design processes.
- Deliver projects within expected timelines and budget constraints.
- Monitor and maintain standards of quality control, assurance, and safety.
- Design products to meet cost budgets and delivery deadlines.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO 14001 standards.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong grasp of engineering concepts and mechanical system design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical problem-solving.
