We are seeking a talented Platform Engineer to architect and manage the resilient environments that underpin our e-commerce platform. Moving beyond traditional administration, you will treat infrastructure as a product, building “Golden Paths” that empower developers to ship code safely and efficiently.

An initial priority project involves modernizing frontend delivery by managing a transition to Vercel (Next.js). Once this architectural shift is complete, your focus will broaden to the holistic health of the platform, with emphasis on advanced security (WAF, API hardening) and automating administrative tasks to support rapid growth.

Position Details

Future Architecture

• Lead oversight and future design of production infrastructure and systems powering the customer experience.

Evaluate & Implement

• Apply best practices for deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment, specifically using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Project-Based Edge Modernization

• Architect and support deployment and optimization of Next.js applications on Vercel.

Security & Hardening

• Implement and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to filter malicious traffic and protect against SQL injection, XSS, and bot attacks.

API Security

• Harden services using API Gateways, enforce strict rate limiting, and ensure robust authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, mTLS).

Performance Tuning

• Provide administration and performance tuning for hybrid Linux and Microsoft server environments.

Automated Infrastructure

• Build, deploy, and automate server infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to improve scalability and availability.

Technical Troubleshooting

• Resolve complex technical issues affecting production, performing root cause analysis with engineering teams.

Technical Requirements & Knowledge

• Cloud & Edge Tech: Experience with Vercel and Next.js deployments; familiarity with Edge Middleware and Functions.
• Security Tooling: Hands-on experience with WAF configuration, API Gateway management, and security tools.
• Core Infrastructure: Strong Linux/Unix/BSD background (preferably RHEL/RockyLinux) and experience in virtualized environments like VMware.
• CI/CD & Automation: Proficiency with GitLab, Jenkins, and expertise in Puppet development/deployment.
• Networking Stack: Experience with Nginx, HAProxy, and Varnish for high-performance traffic handling.
• Software Solutions: Ability to work with Python, PHP, SQL, Redis, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
