Reponsibility:
Supplier/Contract Management:
- Participate in developing and implementing sourcing strategies to meet business needs
- Challenge and motivate suppliers to provide improved commercial outcomes
- Provide oversight and support for site contracts and contractor management
- Review contractor claims, invoices, and ensure compliance with agreed contract terms
- Conduct periodic supplier performance reviews
Financial Management and Analysis:
- Analyse financial performance against budget and forecasts, offering variance explanations
- Provide financial analysis for strategic decision-making and monthly/quarterly performance review meetings
- Support corporate governance, audit, and reporting requirements
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead site level annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for Cash Costs to Bin/CH&P
- Maintain financial models for scenario analysis and adjust forecasts based on business conditions
- Critically review LOM and operational planning inputs to ensure optimal mine NPV is achieved
Cost Management and Control:
- Partner with site management to develop cost-saving initiatives to satisfy/exceed budget/forecast requirements
- Develop plans to implement cost-saving initiatives, with subsequent tracking and reporting
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for capital projects, and develop cases for spend justification and approval
- Conduct regular meetings to review project status and ensure spend is kept within approved budgets
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies
Finance Business Partnering and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work across the operations with line managers to ensure understanding of financial expectations, and review and improve financial performance
- Challenge and motivate site leadership to pursue stretch targets to achieve improved financial outcomes
- Communicate financial results and recommendations to site leadership and executive team
