Job Description: 

We are seeking a Corporate Accountant – Payroll with proven experience in payroll processing, accounting, reconciliations, tax compliance, and month-end reporting. The role supports both periodical and day-to-day finance operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across payroll and core accounting functions. This position requires strong NetSuite expertise, excellent Excel and Google Suite skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Payroll Processing
    Process fortnightly payroll using Employment Hero, ensuring accuracy across wages, leave, deductions, superannuation, and entitlements.
    Manage monthly payroll tax and superannuation processing.
    Prepare and issue employment contracts and coordinate with external HR advisors for compliance and updates.
    Assist in onboarding documentation for new hires as needed.
  2. Accounting & Reconciliations
    Perform bank and merchant facility reconciliations on a regular basis.
    Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
    Process sales orders and customer receipts (TLGA) — approximately 3–5 hours per week.
    Support audit requirements, providing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation as needed.
  3. Month-End Close & Reporting
    Prepare month-end accounting journals, including accruals and adjustments.
    Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, including the profit & loss statement and balance sheet.
    Compile system-generated reports from NetSuite and perform initial review before submission to senior management.
  4. Tax Compliance
    Prepare and lodge Quarterly BAS for two entities.
    Assist external accountants (BDO) in preparing annual Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) requirements (supporting schedules only).
    Ensure compliance with GST, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Payroll processing (preferably using Employment Hero),
  • Proven Experience in  Bank and merchant reconciliation
  • Proven Experience in Month-end journals and reporting
  • Proven Experience in BAS preparation and GST compliance
  • Proven Experience in Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite (required).
  • Excellent Excel and Google Suite skills.
  • Experience supporting audits and liaising with external accountants is an advantage.
